The Honey Rock Musk Melon or Sugar Rock Melon was the 1933 AAS winner. Superior, 3-4 lb. melons with thick, sweet, salmon-colored flesh.
Vigorous, disease resistant plants set large numbers of fruits, 5 - 7 melons per plant or more. Does well in northern U.S. and southern Canada.
Growing tip: Melon seeds dislike cold soil. It's better to wait until the soil is warm to plant the seeds. Also, melons don't like to have their roots disturbed, so when thinning out seedlings in hills, cut the stems of those you want to remove, rather than pulling them out.
