Perennial herb / green with a nutty cucumber flavor for salads, tomatoes, cheese, teas, etc. An Italian proverb says ‘The salad is neither good nor good-looking when there is no burnet.’ The tender, young leaves have the best flavor, they tend to get bitter as they mature. Plucked whole and sprinkled on salads they add a refreshing spice. In summer the plant produces tiny red blossoms on green flower globes and these can be used for garnish, although only for looks, not taste, since they are flavorless. The astringent properties are used to control bleeding, reduce skin inflammation and kill pathogenic organisms. A profusion of long-lasting, dense, dark-purple oblong blooms make it a good ornamental as well. 70 Days. Approx 100 seeds per pack
