SEED STARTING AND SAVING
If you grow with open-pollinated seeds, you also have the opportunity to save your seeds from season to season.
Many varieties, such as corn, beans and pumpkins are best started from seed directly sown in your garden. Other varieties such as tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and some herbs need the jump start of being germinated indoors and transplanted when the weather and soil is warmer.
With a little planning and knowledge you can get started now with your garden plan.
