Australian Butter Winter Squash - The Wonder from Down Under

Prolific, tasty and a versatile winter squash. 12-15 lbs with a small seed cavity and a great keeper. From Diggers Garden Club, Australia.

Winter squash appears to have been domesticated in South America (Peru). From there it spread to Mexico and then to all corners of the earth.

Excellent for baking with its pumpkin shape and thick orange flesh and hard shell. The flesh is creamy, string-less and lends itself to many cooking methods.

Growing Tip

Sow 5 seeds per hill, 4' apart. Thin to best 2-3 plants. Squash seeds dislike cold soil. It's better to wait until the soil is warm to plant the seeds.

    Australian Butter Winter Squash

I have purchased this Squash from Terroir before. Good germination, large and very meaty Squash. The meat is creamy (not stringy) and delicious. Repeat purchase of this seed again this year. A new favorite!
