Cress

Garden cress is a fast-growing edible herb indigenous to western Asia. It was used by the ancient Egyptians as a food source and became well known across Europe, where it is grown commercially today. Cress is added to soups, sandwiches and salads for its tangy flavor, or eaten as sprouts. Other names include garden cress, garden pepper cress, pepperwort, or pepper grass.
