Glorious Greens Lettuce Mix - The Splendor of Lettuce

A unique selection of 15 fast-maturing lettuces especially chosen to balance leaf shapes and colors. Perfect choice for kitchen gardens and farmer's market sales as a gourmet lettuce mix.

For a longer harvest season, do a succession planting every 2-3 weeks. This will keep a fresh supply of greens growing for you!

Lettuce is thought to have originated in Asia Minor, probably from one of the wild lettuce types, of which there are more than 100 varieties. Lettuce graced the tables of Persian kings, Roman senators, and medieval lords. It has been food for peasant and noble alike for hundreds of years. Lettuce was also prized medicinally for its cooling powers and was used to tame fevers, liver inflammations and lust.

Leaves are used in salads and on sandwiches.

Growing Tip

Mulching your lettuce plants will help the shallow root system maintain even moisture. Try to keep constant moisture by watering the soil not the leaves.

    Perfect mix

We really like a nice salad, so we usually sow about 20 different lettuces. Some grow well one year, and others the next year. In order to be sure to have lettuce always, we have a space reserved for this mix, which seems to thrive every year. It is a very tasty mix, not too strong, and nice and crisp.
