Cucumber
The Cucumber is thought to have originated in India at the foot of the Himalayas and cultivated in western Asia for 3,000 years. From India it spread through trade to Greece and Rome, where it was well known and enjoyed. Later, it was introduced to China in the 2nd century BC. The Roman Empire helped it's spread through Europe, with records showing cultivation in France in the 9th Century and England in the 14th Century. Cucumbers reached America through Haiti during early Spanish exploration, where they quickly spread through trade.
