Description

Sweet Pea Currant Tomato

This tomato plant knows how to spread, reaching more than 6-12' in diameter, with the most beautiful red jewel fruits you have ever seen. A currant tomato that bears it fruits on 10-12" trusses. The flavor of these tiny fruits is said to be reminiscent of fine wine. Best used fresh, also makes a perfect decoration for platters.

Produces early and keeps going.  It is best to stake or trellis this tomato. Perfectly grown with the Gold Rush Currant tomato for a beautiful red and gold rainbow of flavors.

History

This heirloom tomato has introduced in 2004 by Seed Savers Exchange.

Uses

Raw or cooked the tomato is one of the most widely used and versatile foods from your garden. Use fresh in salads, sandwiches, and salsas.

Growing Tip

Tomatoes suffer more transplant shock than other vegetables, but you can minimize this by hardening them off for a week or two first. This means setting them outdoors in their pots in a protected place so that they get some warm sun, a little gentle wind, and even some cool (not freezing) nights. This will help them adjust to some of the stresses of real life before having their roots transplanted into the ground.
