Fordhook Giant Swiss Chard is a 1750s heirloom. Introduced commercially in 1934 by W. Atlee Burpee & Co. Broad dark green heavily crumpled leaves 24-28" tall with white veins and thick 2 1/2" wide stalks. Abundant producer all season, even after light frosts. Excellent for greens, was also used for poultry feed.
