Description
Poblano/Ancho Pepper - Fresh or Dried
This thick-walled stuffing pepper is 4" x 2 1/2" at shoulder and turns from black-green to red-brown when ripe. Concentrated fruit set on beautiful 2-3' tall plants. Known as the Poblano pepper when fresh and Ancho pepper when dried.
When dried, the distinctive, earthy flavor and aroma are the substance of a memorable chile powder. A favorite in Mexican cuisine, used in sauces, stews and of course for stuffing.
History
Indigenous to Central and South America, peppers were developed into a crop plant around 3,000 BC or perhaps even earlier. Columbus introduced Capsicum into Europe and it also spread to Africa and Asia.
Uses
Peppers are used fresh, dried, and cooked. Peppers contain vitamins A and C.

Great Taste
Great taste, but few peppers per plant. Grow a lot of plants for a bumper crop. Nice level of spice, unless you take the seeds out before cooking, then this could be called a sweet pepper.
